Kayman Award 2008. BJA

I was the last person ever to receive the Kayman Award from the British Jeweller’s Association.  The category that year was Mixed Metal Jewellery to coincide with changes in the hallmarking laws, which had previously excluded jewellery made from precious metal mixed with non-precious material.  I submitted a suite of three prototypes from my Vane collection and here’s what the judges had to say:
“These pieces provide an innovative and interesting use of mixed metals and are at the cutting-edge of  jewellery design and production.  The result is strong, flexible, vivid and eye-catching designs that are also hugely wearable.”
